Kenzie and I, known this weekend as "Mae'd With A Kiss", blew away a raging crowd of a whopping 20-30 people in Darby, MT as part of the Rockin' In the Roots concert series!

We had a blast from the moment we hopped in the Yukon with Papa Russ and Mama Wendy for the entire 7 hour trip from Lewistown to Darby until we hopped on stage enduring blazing winds and power short-outs.

It was definitely an eventful evening for our first official gig. But I couldn't ask for a better, more-talented cohort and team mate than Kenzie because one doesn't exist!

The Year of The Boar...By Anneke Majors

My lovely older sister, Anneke, has written an amazing collection of stories from her mission in Japan, our paternal grandmother's conversion, and our mom's conversion and the series of events, generations deep, that lead to it all. The book is called, "The Year of The Boar" and you can get it here! for only $5.99. I highly recommend it. It will summon laughter, tears, and intelligent thought & pondering.It is an e-book edition so if you have a kindle or other e-book you can get it easily. Aside from the fact that she is my sister...and a bit of bias is expected...her writing is enthralling, witty, and heart warming. Great if you know anyone serving a mission soon, currently or has served already. Even a non-member could appreciate the mere honesty of this book.

The strongest woman I know! Someday I hope I can cook as well as you and look as good dancing in the kitchen while I do it! Love you Mama!

An to her mother, my grandma Marilyn...for bringing Katy into the world! Grandma is one of the best supports we have. I have always adored her spunk and spirit!

My Uncle Bubba (Clint Majors, my father's older brother) has been doing a lot of geneology work and has been so generous to send me some really neat old pictures!

Here he is in Vietnam.

I think Freddie's got what it takes to be an all-night rockstar like his dad. Must be that trucker's blood runnin' through his tiny veins! His youth hides the exhaustion better than Jaxon :)

On our trip back from PA (sniff...sniff..sob...sob) we made a pit stop to visit my wonderful Grandma Marilyn and her family in De Pere, WI! She treated Jaxon and me like royalty! We stayed at the most wonderful Bed & Breakfast named Joanne's...in the "Congo River Room" honeymoon suite!

This is what two spoiled kiddos look like!

Oh I just wish Mama Wendy Woo could have been there! She would have LOVED the decor and the landscaping outside!

Next time...can I please bring EVERYONE?

We also attended a wedding while we were there for a very quick two days :( I wish we could have stayed two weeks but the ranch work back at home was calling our names. We had a wonderful time and I was so glad Jaxon could meet so many of my family members that he hasnt met before! And it was so good for me to see them all again for the first time since I was 16!

I was so happy the Fennemas were at the wedding! These folks are a BLAST and total Allen material

Until I saw this...
Everybody just loves my baby! I just know this child is gonna be SO loved! and probably spoiled rotten!

I had the best time and was so happy to share so many wonderful folks with my husband! I sure wish we all lived closer because it nearly broke my heart to leave my lovely Grandma!

Our DC trip

So I finally found my camera cord in the move (thank goodness!) and uploaded pictures from as far back as christmas! woof! but I am just gonna start slow and get ya'll as updated as I can. Here are some shots from our recent trip to PennsylVANia, tour of DC, and pit stop in Wisconsin.

The Washington Monument and reflection pool. I was sad not to see Jen-nay running across to meet up with Forest but I'm pretty sure I saw her shoe stuck in the inches and inches of duck gunk and floating goose poop that fills the majority of the reflection pool. Nasty.

My favorite was the Vietnam memorial. It just has a very captivating spirit about the place.
Woot woot for PA! The WWII memorial was probably one of the cleanest attractions enough that Jaxon even dunked his head in the fountain to cool off from the imense heat and humidity.

The most special part of seing all these memorials was to know that I have several ancestors and family members, and Jaxon does too, who have served and fought for this country. From the Revolutionary War, Cival War, World War II, Vietnam, to the Iraq War. It makes me proud to come from such a patriotic blood line.

Barely got a picture of the Pentagon as we drove past but you can see on the left were it was rebuilt after 9/11. Kind of erie to be that close to something like that. Made it seem very real. I can't imagine what Ground Zero is like!

After searching the American History Museum for what seemed like hours on the hunt for Marilyn Monroe's dress that was supposed to be there and then finding out it wasn't on display (heartbreaker), we caught a glimpse of Marilyn downtown DC! That made my whole day!

Of course we had to see the DC temple! It was amazing. We went to the visitors center and to the distribution center but we both forgot our temple clothes (not that my dress even fits my pregnant bod) but it was still amazing! I felt like I was standing in front of a castle!

While we were in PA we went to the New Holland factory and toured where they make all the farm equiptment! It was actually pretty sweet! We just love hay balers...but mostly we love our sweet safety goggles we had to wear on the tour!

Unfortunately...Jae and I had to spend Thanksgiving apart this year :(

But I did enjoy my time off from work and the oportunity to spend the week with my family in Hamilton.

Thanksgiving morning my sisters Anneke and Emarie and myself ran the Turkey Trot 8k race in Missoula!

We saw "Shepard of The Hills." An amazing live, outdoor performance with real livestock, burning buildings, fight scenes and even squaredancing!

We went to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum where we learned interesting facts like this...

Jaxon introduced me to the infamous Andy and his delicious frozen custard. YUM!
